Here at Floris, we believe in supporting local craftsmanship and championing great British designers and brands, which is why we were thrilled to be the official scent of London Collections Men for a second time running this year.
London Collections: Men (LCM) was introduced in the Summer of 2012 where British designers showcased their Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter collections. Since its launch, LCM has grown tremendously and now showcases over 77 independent designers. The British Fashion Council has brought both creative and cultural importance to the forefront of people’s minds, allowing great British craftsmanship to flourish.
From Left to Right: Hu Bing, Dylan Jones, David Gandy and Nick Grimshaw.
This time around, Floris London were scenting the SS17 catwalks and presentations with our definitive Sandalwood and Patchouli home fragrance. Floris home fragrances date back to the 1800s where in our catalogue of 1851 a range entitled “For Perfuming Apartments” could be found. We picked this fragrance to scent the rooms of LCM due to its exotic blend of bergamot and earthy vetiver, combined with a sweet vanilla musk, giving this woody oriental its distinctive masculine character.
A few highlights from over the weekend inlcuded the Oliver Spencer Spring Summer 2017 catwalk. Inspired by minimalist design, he created a collection with a 1950s Mediterranean influence.
Key pieces from the collection included: linear patterned Portobello jacket in navy and Pompeii red, new style Tom’s Jacket with long line lapel detail and checkered merino cardigan and short co-ords. Our favourite pieces were the beautifully tailored suede jackets.
Day two had a lot to offer. The Jermyn Street/ St James catwalk put on a great display of all the luxury menswear brands situated within the heart of St James’s. Brands such as Turnbull & Asser, John Smedley and John Lobb dominated the catwalk, demonstrating how the modern British gentleman should be dressing for the seasons ahead.
This weekend also marked Her Majesty The Queen’s official 90th Birthday. The street was packed out with visitors who enjoyed delicious street food from the likes of Fortnum & Mason, Chop Shop and Sub Cult. There was also a chill out zone for pedestrians who wanted to take the weight off their feet!
To top the weekend of celebrations off, we were offering complimentary grooming treatments provided by the talented Pall Mall Barbers in our 89 Jermyn Street shop, using The Gentleman Floris range as well as having our friendly shop staff out on the street handing out free samples of our newly released Bergamotto di Positano Eau de Parfum. It truly was a fun packed weekend.
